Young athletes are presenting to doctor's offices all over the country time and time again with Stress Fractures, Rotator Cuff Injuries and Tendonitis. All of which are signs of biomechanical breakdown and lack of proper nutrition.
Poor quality nutrition + Poor Exercise Protocol = Poor Performance and Pain
The best materials (food) lead to peak performance. Poor materials lead to poor structure and decreased performance. Its that simple.
I can't tell you how many elite level young athletes I have treated that lack the ability to properly use their gluteus maximus (butt) muscles properly and stabilize their spine using their core activation! The glutes are the strongest and largest muscles in the body. For an athlete to run and jump without proper glute activation creates excessive demands on the quads and calves which can lead to patellar tendonitis (Jumper's Knee) or Achilles Tendonitis or Knee / Lowback Pain!
Optimal structure allows for optimal function AND optimal function will in return maintain optimal structure!
So remember these TidBits of information the next time you or your young athlete has Pain!
